CYCLING HOLIDAYS IN CASTELLON, SPAIN
Welcome
TO THE UNDISCOVERED WORLD OF CYCLING
Ride one of Spain’s last truly undiscovered cycling regions.
Located at the foot of the Maestrat mountains in the Castellón region of Spain, our unique location gives you direct access to some of the best routes Spain has to offer.
Ride without the crowds or logistics of traditional cycling destinations.
The focus is simple, epic riding from your door with no traffic, no transfers and no boring connecting routes.
Our hotel is set at the foot of the mountains, quite literally, en route. That means no boring rides to the “good bit”
We've stripped away everything that gets between you and the ride.
Step outside the hotel and ride straight into the mountains.
"We aren't just close to the routes, we ARE the routes"
NO TRAFFIC, NO PELOTONS
just riding
While other cycling destinations are becoming increasingly busy, Castellón remains largely untouched.
Expect the same immaculate Spanish tarmac, world-class climbs, and breathtaking views.
But often with the road entirely to yourself.
Head in any direction from our hotel and expect genuine, uninterrupted riding from the moment you spin a wheel.
Maestrat Cycling was born from a deep passion for two wheels. With years of experience in racing bikes and providing rider-focused hospitality, this destination has found a new love for cycling.
The vision was simple, create a central hub for road, gravel, and adventure riders alike.
Our mission is to build a complete Spanish cycling experience that blends performance, exploration, and recovery. From guided tours and training camps to cafe stops and race events - all based in our 4-star rural hotel.
Coupled with on-site dining, secure bike storage, and maintenance facilities, everything is designed with riders in mind.
At The Pines, our 4-star hotel in the Maestrat mountains of Castellon, eastern Spain. The nearest airports are Castellon and Valencia, and the riding starts at the hotel door rather than at the end of a transfer.
Guided road weeks at 70-85km or 95-115km a day, guided gravel tours, self-guided trips, training camps and event weeks built around races like La Vuelta and the Millars Gran Fondo. Custom trips are built to your own dates and distances.
It is one of Spain's most mountainous provinces and among its least ridden. You get the same quality tarmac and sustained climbs found in Girona or Mallorca, with a fraction of the traffic and none of the queues on descents.
Tours run March to November. Spring and autumn bring the most comfortable temperatures and the emptiest roads, while high summer suits early starts. Winters at low altitude stay mild enough to ride.
Most guests bring their own. There is secure indoor storage, a workshop, and cleaning and maintenance facilities on site, so your bike is looked after between rides.
4-star accommodation with daily breakfast and dinner, airport transfers, expert route selection, café stops, a support vehicle, secure bike storage and GPX files. Self-guided trips include accommodation and the base without the guiding.
